That's right, it is the Intermediate server.

Let's take a look at the etymology of the word, shall we?

"Intermediate" comes from the Latin "inter", meaning "between", and "medius", meaning "middle". Taken literally it can mean "the middle between" or perhaps "middle ground". Using either of these interpretations, I submit that it is less intermediate to ban shields than it is to allow them because they can be used by lesser-skilled players, such as me, to nullify the skills of more skilled players, such as you. In other words, it places both of us closer to the middle in combat. In picture form:

Your argument is invalid.

Colloquially, we dont use the word intermediate in that way. There's also the beginner server for shields. And you're being too modest, calling yourself lesser-skilled. Half to most of the players are nonsteamers which if they're new, could go to the beginner server and use shields. Most of them that do buy shields, sit in a corner and sit there and not do the objective; or sit in a group in a corner for the whole duration of the round. Letting them use shields allows them to just sit and not do the objective.

Shields are disabled on the Beginners' server. In fact, if we're using the word intermediate in the colloquial way, that could be viewed as another reason that shields should be enabled on the Intermediate server. Players can go from being total scrubs on the Beginners' server, having access to only basic weapons, to having access to all equipment and learning which pieces are lame and which aren't.

I'm only semi-trolling you. I don't really care what's unlocked and what isn't. In my opinion it's just as lame for a player who has a >= 5:1 K:D ratio with >= 20 kills to start awping tunnels on CT side of dust as it is for a scrub to buy a shield and run around with it on another map.

I've noticed the tendency for shield users to sit in corners and not do the objective. I have found that after spreading tsays, a few well placed 0 damage slaps usually get them moving. Kinda like using a cattle prod.
